About Yourself: Prof. Anand Bhalerao is the Vice Chancellor of Central University of Rajasthan, with over 35 years of experience in teaching and administration. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Pune University. His research interests include Hydraulic Engineering, Project Management, Sediment Transport, and Construction Management, guiding 9 Ph.D. and nearly 20 M. Tech. scholars, with 44+ publications in reputed journals and conferences. He is member of Executive Committee as well as Standing Committee of NAAC, had chaired the NAAC Peer Team for Accreditation of various University/Institutions. He is being nominated by UGC/MoE/State Governor as Member/UGC Nominee in Selection Committees of Vice Chancellor of Central (3), State (8), and Private/Deemed Universities (5). He is also Chairperson of Committee constituted for implementation of ATAL Tinkering Lab, Chairperson of the Committee constituted for transparency in Admission. He is being nominated as Member of Committees constituted for NEP-2020 Implementation in State Funded Universities of Rajasthan and NAAC Accreditation of State Funded Universities of Rajasthan by Hon’ble Governor of Rajasthan, Mentor of Five State Funded Universities of Rajasthan for NEP-2020 Implementation He is member of Executive Council of Central University of Jharkhand, Member of the Institute Body of All India Institute of Medical Science, Jodhpur. Prof. Bhalerao has served on numerous boards and councils like the Board of Management, Academic Council, Board of Examinations, and as Chairman or Member of Boards of Studies in Civil Engineering. He has also been invited as a speaker by several premier institutions. He has driven innovations by establishing labs and developing equipment. Notably, he has built strong ties with international universities and industries such as University of Tokushima (Japan), Drexel University (USA), NCAT (USA), TCS, Infosys, Wipro, SKF India, among others. He provided consultancy to Kirloskar Brothers and led various funded research projects from DRDO, AICTE, Govt. of Maharashtra, covering topics like wind power, road infrastructure, sediment transport, and nano-composites. Previously, he was Principal at Bharti Vidyapeeth University College of Engineering, Pune, also serving as Dean, HoD, and coordinator for key committees and university events. He pioneered industry-academia collaborations like B.Tech. (CS & Business Systems) with TCS and B.Tech. (Robotics & Automation) with Parker Hannifin. Prof. Bhalerao is the recipient of several awards, including the ISTE Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan National Award, Shikshak Gaurav Puraskar, Mr. Engineer, and more. He chaired Nanocon, served as Vice President of the Indian Society for Hydraulics, and contributed to NBA, NAAC, and AICTE accreditations. A member of several professional bodies such as the Institution of Engineers, Indian Society for Hydraulics, Indian Road Congress, he continues to champion industry-academia partnerships, curriculum development, skill enhancement, and entrepreneurship. His dedication to academics and administration makes him a respected role model nationally and internationally.
